Looking for a new adventure this year in the summer? How about a ride across Georgia?
Big BRAG (https://brag.org/brag) is SAT June 1 to SAT June 8. For those driving it would be a leave on FRI May 31st arriving at the start by 2PM on Sat June 1st. After rolling into camp at the end of the adventure Sat June 8th I will hit the road and roll into the Chicago suburbs NLT Sunday June 8th at noon. This is a smaller version of Ragbrai but cycling across the friendly and somewhat hillier northern parts of Georgia. The starting point is to be announced January 1st.
On Big BRAG, cyclists will average about 55-70 miles per day for a week with a day off in the middle. It sounds like a lot, but we offer SAG and provide well-stocked rest stops every 12 - 18 miles with your favorite snacks and drinks, fun activities, and great views! BRAG routes take bike riders through some of the most friendly and welcoming towns and feature some of the best food Georgia has to offer. A roving bar, shower facilities and charging stations are available.
When you pull into camp after your ride, you'll have access to the BRAG Bar where you can grab your favorite drink. Each day after the ride there are activities like bike trivia, one-legged bike races, educational classes, yoga, massages, etc. Every night features tomfoolery in the towns where we stay, like concerts, DJs, and festivals.
There is some hotel availability, some camping availability as well as “turn down service” for camping.
Bicycles can be brought if driving, brought on the airplane or shipped to a local cycle shop and back.
Food is available in the small towns as well as food trucks at the base camp.
