In my effort to continue to support the movement towards equal pay for women in professional cycling, I have decided to put together a winter cycling challenge. And guess what, it’s super easy. All you have to do is show up and ride. Yep, it’s just that easy!
At the conclusion of these winter rides, I will present a check to the Homestretch Foundation, an official 501c3 nonprofit organization, with the mission to level the playing field of salary discrepancy in sport, so that female professional athletes have the same wages and equal opportunities as male professional athletes. Kathryn Bertine, professional cyclist, author, filmmaker and activist for women’s rights founded this organization in 2017.
For every women that shows up to ride, I will donate $1.66 For every male that shows up to ride, I will donate $1.00
I have a designated 9.6 mile loop with approximately 617 feet of elevation gain. Come ride as long as you would like, at your own pace, while doing hill repeats. No water or bathrooms at start so stop before you come to the ride. Bring you own refreshments/drinks to keep in your car. The route will come back to the starting point/parking lot after the completion of 1 loop.
