From the Bombay Bicycle Club webpage:
"What is BCETS exactly? It's a 15 week BBC sponsored series of early season training rides for hilly endurance events such as Horribly Hilly Hundreds (HHH), Ride Across Wisconsin (RAW), IRONMAN Wisconsin and Dairyland Dare. The program is also for anyone who just wants to challenge themselves to improve their climbing skills, endurance and overall fitness. The rides take you on hilly roads (steep and long!) on many of the HHH roads in the Mt Horeb area."
RIDE DESCRIPTION FROM THEIR WEBSITE:
Please be ready 15 minutes before the start time for the pre ride briefing
This route starts at Mounds View Park, in the village of Blue Mounds. https://maps.app.goo.gl/XjU8G32dNECrcdw77
The route goes to Barneveld via Hwy ID, and then loops back up Mounds Park Rd, down Ryan Rd and out Blue Mounds Trail. Then comes Moen Valley and KP.
From KP, the route goes into Cross Plains (mi 26) for food and water, and then back to Garfoot and up Barlow. Mineral Point, Hwy J, Greenwald, Moe, JJ and Vermont Church Rd. At this point the route will back track on KP, Moen Valley Rd and Blue Mound Trail, and back to Hwy F and then Zwettler, Hwy K and to the top of Blue Mound via Mounds Park Rd. Then descend back down to the start location (Mounds View Park).
The other food/water option (not shown on the route) is to go into Black Earth via Hwy KP rather than turning on left Moen Valley Rd at mile 46.5. In Black Earth, turn right on Mills St to Veterans Park. Return on Mills St, cross Hwy KP, and continue on Hwy 78 to Hwy JJ to re-join the route. This adds an additional mile to the route.
The short route cut-off is about mile 37. Continue on Hwy J to Hwy F and then to Zwettler rather than turning on Greenwald."
