NOTE: This ride is for women, trans women, cis women and gender-expansive friends.
This ride is hosted by Black Girls Do Bike, a 501c3 organization with the mission to grow and support a community of women of color who share a passion for cycling. They champion efforts to introduce the joy of cycling to all women, but especially, women and girls of color: https://www.blackgirlsdobike.org
We will ride together to and from the Orland Grasslands Land and Water Reserve trail at a competitive pace (rolling speed of 16-20mph). The short distance for this pace will be 3 miles out and 3 miles back. The terrain is paved trail, streets, rolling hills. There is no gravel on this ride, 100% paved.
Everyone is free to complete as many rotations around the Orland Grasslands Trail 5-mile loop as they wish. We will also loop around an adjacent trail of 1.7 miles. You will complete each loop/distance in the Orland Grasslands Land and Water Reserve trail at YOUR OWN PACE, at what is most comfortable to you.
Those who are not able/comfortable riding at a competitive pace (rolling speed of 16-20mph) but wish to join us, are welcome to join us and meet up with us at the Orland Grasslands. In this instance, meet us at the entrance of the trail off of the intersection of 167th Street and 104th Avenue on the trail. From the main parking lot, head west (turn left) on the trail to the trail entrance off 167th Street/104th Avenue. Wait by the Orland Prairie Grasslands sign on the trail at that corner (0.8 mile). You will see us heading towards the entrance approximately around 6:15-6:20 pm as we make our way over from the REI parking lot to the trail on 104th Avenue.
