Calendar - Event View

We will hike trails of the Palos FP at a moderately fast clip with two options; 8 or 11 mile hikes. We will stay mostly on the trails with some off trail hiking. There is a short trail side break after seven miles. Please, bring enough water and snacks. There is a after hike get-together, tailgate party, at the trailhead to celebrate the new year. Feel free to bring some food, though, it is not necessary. This is a cold weather hike, please, dress appropriate to the weather. This hike will not be cancelled. I recommend sturdy hiking shoes with gaiters and tracking poles. Also, a backpack with extra mid layer and spare gloves is helpful. This hike is in conjunction with the Forest Trail Hiking Club. The hikers must feel comfortable hiking in a large group.
