Come join us for a night time path ride that takes place every Wednesday night from November through March. We will go out on the Great Western Trail and come back on the IL Prairie Path. We will have two stops, a quick stop at the halfway point, Klein Creek, and the second stop at near the Wheaton Starbucks/Wheaton‘s outdoor fire place. Last year, anyone who rode three or more rides received an custom-engraved EBC shot glass. This year, we have a new glass design, but you will need to ride 6 or more rides to receive it. Also, Dawn Piech is using the WWSR to raise awareness for a cause near and dear to her. She will donate to this cause for every rider that rides the WWSR. Please reach out to Dawn either on the ride or through her contact information for the details. This ride may or may not break up into a couple of groups based on speed. In case it does, the lead group will be requested to circle back before each break so all the riders can regroup and go into the breaks together. These are cold, winter rides, so no rider will be left to ride alone, or even allowed to leave the ride without notice to the group. Finally, this whole ride is in the dark, so bring good lights, and wear reflective clothing. Let the fun continue!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my effort to continue to support the movement towards equal pay for women in professional cycling, I have decided to put together a winter cycling challenge. And guess what, it’s super easy. All you have to do is show up and ride. Yep, it’s just that easy! At the conclusion of these winter rides, I will present a check to the Homestretch Foundation, an official 501c3 nonprofit organization, with the mission to level the playing field of salary discrepancy in sport, so that female professional athletes have the same wages and equal opportunities as male professional athletes. Kathryn Bertine, professional cyclist, author, filmmaker and activist for women’s rights founded this organization in 2017.

For every women that shows up to ride, I will donate $1.66 For every male that shows up to ride, I will donate $1.00

Must be Randonneurs USA member to do this particular ride (https://rusa.org/pages/memberservices, $30 per year) and over 18 years of age per Randonneurs liability requirements. This ride is free to all who attend. Again, must be Randonneurs USA member.

This route will start from Richland Center to Spring Green, with a stop for breakfast at the Spring Green General Store. The route passes through Gotham, Lone Rock then crosses the Wisconsin River towards Frank Lloyd Wright‘s Tailessen to Sextonville.

The route has 1,733 feet of elevation gain in the 62 miles.

Upon completion of this ride, all participants will receive an official International Women‘s Day 2020 Together We Ride official roundel/patch.

Celebrate International Women‘s Day by riding 50K or 31 miles minimum. We‘ll be stopping at several woman owned business during the ride. Riding speed is not critical (variable depending on riders) but enjoying an early spring on a bicycle is. We‘ll be riding on streets and paved trail where available. Snow, Rain and below freezing temp will cancel and I‘ll reschedule for following Saturday. However, the long range forecast is for low 40‘s making riding more comfortable. Registration as indicated by the closing date shown.
