Whitlock Park is located on Fairview Avenue in Downers Grove. It is on the east side of Fairview Avenue, about 1/3 mile north of Ogden Avenue.

State Park vehicle admission stickers and trail passes required and may be purchase onsite

Need a little adventure in your life? Want to get off the beaten path? Come join The EBC mountain bike leadership team on a 4 to 5 hour ski excursion at Palos. We will ski all ungroomed trails including many of the single-track trails that are closed to bikes in summer. Steep hills, logs, creek crossings, tight turns, this trip has everything you could want.....except the Groomer. George will lead, Chuck will sweep and Pussanee will assist as needed. Please bring a sandwich, other nutrition, plenty of water and a willingness to get loss a bit! Sense of humor helpful. Sanity not required.

A "rest" stop at a church for a quick pancake breakfast ($5.00) - or you can roam on your own while we eat. Then we will walk off the pancakes by viewing ice sculptures in front of businesses and walk past a few Sears Kit homes. Meet at Maple Grove Forest Preserve parking lot - on north side of Maple Ave. midway between Main St (Downers) and Belmont Ave. You will see baseball fields along Maple Ave.

Bring your sense of adventure as we navigate the tangled web of tunnels, corridors, staircases and revolving doors of the city under a city - the Chicago Pedway. Most of this hike will be in heated corridors but we will have some street level walking and unheated areas. Burlington riders take the train that arrives Union Station at 10:42 and meet us at Ogilvie upstairs ticket counter. Please e-mail or call if you are coming so we don't leave without you.

HOT TUB - GAMES - DAY or WEEKEND RIDE: 11:00am - 30 mile ride lead by Larry Gitchell - please let us know if you are interested in leading a shorter/slower, a mountain bike ride or a faster ride CROSS COUNTRY SKIING: 11:00 am Vicki Pate will lead skiers on the Warren Dune trails and 6pm for night ski on the lighted groomed trails at Loves Creek. Have you ever wanted to do a 3 hour winter mountain bike ride and a three hour back country X-C ski in the same day? Well, nows your chance! We will mountain bike ride ~3 hours at Palos, followed by and an alcohol free lunch at Staggshead Pub, followed by ~3 hours of back country X-C skiing at Cap Sauers Holdings which is the largest roadless track of land in Cook County. Skiing will be followed by a celebratory drink back at Staggshead Pub. Please bring a sturdy lock to secure your bike while skiing and enough nutrition and water for ~6+ hours of outdoor activity. You will also need a change of base layer. Sense of humor helpful, sanity not required
