EBC Awards Programs

Each club member, who leads fifteen or more rides or hikes (at least 10 must be rides)over a three-year period, while leading a minimum of two rides or hikes a year, will receive a Ride Leader Jersey. Two or more club members must be on the ride and the ride must qualify for mileage credit* in order for the ride leader to receive credit for leading the ride. If two ride leaders are listed as the ride leader, then each leader will receive half credit.

*To qualify for mileage credit, the ride must be listed in the published ride calendar or posted on the late additions schedule on the website for a minimum of 24 hours prior to the ride.

A single patch is awarded to club members who complete at least one ride each of 25, 50, 62, & 100 miles in one year. Any ride that is listed in the ride calendar or on the hotline that meets the four distances will be eligible for credit towards a patch.

Recognition will be given to every club member that rides 500 or more miles for the year. Only club miles are counted. Certificates and T-shirts will be awarded. Awards will be given based on the following mileage.

A certificate for 500 to 999 miles. A T-shirt and a certificate for all the following miles; 1000 to 1999, 2000 to 2999, 3000 to 3999, etc. The T-shirt will have "Elmhurst Bicycle 1000 Mile Club", etc. printed on the front. To receive credit the ride must qualify for mileage credit.* Mileage credit for club rides comes from the ride sheet that is submitted by the ride leader.

A gift certificate from a local bicycle shop will be awarded to the new club member that rides the most club miles for the year.

To encourage and reward young club members, each young member, 0-12 years of age, that attends 5 or more club events will receive a recognition award.
