Salt Creek Greenway Trail Construction Photos March 27, 2008
Looking north across Salt Creek from Crickett Park toward St. Charles Road. (Just to the left of the crane in the background is the Kentucky Fried Chicken at 83 and St. Charles.) This is on the west side of RT 83. Concrete foundation for one of the four bridges being installed in Elmhurst across Salt Creek.

Looking south from where the last picture was taken, the bridge will come down in the middle of the "U" outlined by the black plastic fence. Notice the park pavilion in the background.

The pavilion in the last photo is just to the left of this photo. We are looking back north toward the intersection of Rt. 83 and St. Charles. Elmhurst water tower in the background.

Looking southeast from the farthest east end of Thomas Avenue, the northernmost point of path construction in Elmhurst. The trees have been removed and the future trail rough graded. Our mountain bikers would probably like this just the way it is.

From the same location at the intersection of Thomas (on the left) and Monterey (on the right). It is good to see the commitment of all this equipment. Do you suppose the aqua-colored machine is an air compressor for filling bike tires? :-)
